EJ Montana
EJ is a mixed media artist whose projects use local and sustainable materials. She prioritizes the use of biomaterials that can
eventually decompose back into the earth.
Future Goals
I hope to collaborate with artists who can
raise awareness about the challenges in our communities and ecosystems while fostering
positive change through our work.
Artist's Statement & Artist's Talk
As an Art & Ecology student, my practice centers on sustainability and the intertwined
connection between art and the environment. Through sculptural forms I use a variety of
materials, including textiles, metals, and organic biomaterials. A key aspect of my practice
is sourcing materials from what I already own or scavenging responsibly, reducing waste,
and giving new life to forgotten items. Through my work, I aim to create, build, and present
artworks that not only resonate with my audience but also enrich the spaces they inhabit.
